Bruce Jenner was involved in fatal crash when his Escalade slammed into a white Lexus and caused it to go onto the oncoming traffic lane and crash with a black Hummer. The driver of the Lexus was fatally injured and died on the scene.
The fatal incident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway where Bruce, along with 3 other vehicles, got in the car crash when a driver in a black Prius slammed on his breaks to make a u-turn causing the white Lexus to slam into him, which then caused Bruce Jenner to slam into the white Lexus which was in front of him. The impact caused the white Lexus to fly across the highway to oncoming traffic where it collided with a black Hummer.
Bruce Jenner was uninjured in the fatal crash that caused a chain reaction and in total 4 cars crashed in the Pacific Coast Highway accident.
Images of the impact of the accident and the aftermath were captured by paparazzi but they are not considered to be at fault, this according to the LAPD, that admit the paparazzi were at the incident but were not the cause of the fatal accident.
A source from the LAPD told People Magazine – “Mr. Jenner was aware that the paparazzi were following him and he wasn’t taking any evasive actions,” [LAPD] he said. “There was no evidence of paparazzi driving inappropriately.”
In fact the paparazzi were across the street when the incident happen trying to photograph Bruce Jenner as he drove by smoking a cigarette.
A picture that could ultimately save Bruce Jenner since originally there was talk of him texting before crashing but the image proved he was smoking a cigarette instead of texting. He also volunteered to take a sobriety test at the scene and was driven in a police car to the police station for voluntary blood test for drugs.
He later released a statement saying – “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner said in a statement, “It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
